Root chakra
Red · the base of the spine · safety, grounding and trust
The root chakra sits at the base of the spine and is linked with the colour red and the element of earth. In the chakra tradition it is the foundation of the whole system: the feeling of having solid ground under your feet.
When people speak about the root chakra, they usually mean a sense of safety, belonging and trust in life. It is connected with home, routine, money for the basics, and the simple comfort of being in your body.
You can think of it as the roots of a tree. The deeper and calmer they are, the higher the branches can grow.
